Feature/Benefit Analysis – RITRON SLX Series Radio

1. SLX-100 5/1 Watt VHF, 136-174MHz and SLX-400 4/1 Watt UHF, 406-470MHz

Some systems require the additional power of a portable like the SLX. Not only does the SLX offer high

power (5W VHF/4W UHF), but it also delivers it in a small, easy-to-carry, and lightweight package. The

standard Lithium-Ion battery pack is extremely light, yet delivers 1800mAH of battery capacity.

2. Wide Frequency Band Operation – Less Stocking SKU’s, New Market Opportunities!

The SLX offers wide frequency band operation without retuning of the radio. 38MHz @ VHF and 64MHz @

UHF. This capability allows the dealer to stock fewer “SKUs” yet sell to a broader market segment. Those

customers operating on frequencies near the band edges are now fair game for Ritron dealers. This wide

frequency band operation opens up new opportunities in the Government radio user market sector. For best

operation, the antenna for each radio must be cut to a center-frequency that will best serve the user.

When antenna is cut to specific frequency it will provide the following performance:

VHF: 7.5MHz on each side of center frequency. UHF: 10MHz on each side of center frequency.

More than enough channels for most business and industrial users. The extra capacity needed to go after

some government and public safety customers.

4. Sealed and Gasketed Construction, IP-54 and MIL-STD 810F Certified

Military Durability. The SLX radio meets tough standards for temperature, humidity, acceleration, vibration

and shock. It is designed to provide years of reliable service.

5. Ultra Small, only 3.93” H x 1.33” D x 2.2” W

About the size of a credit card standing on end (we’re working on the thickness dimension). The SLX series

shatters the status quo when it comes to a radio’s size. The SLX is small and lightweight, and yet it’s controls

are still easy to use and the audio is loud and clear.

6. Lightweight, Ergonomic - Only 10oz. with “6-Point Capture Off-The-Back” Battery Design

You’ll notice the difference as soon as you pick one up and so will your customers! Rugged 6-point capture

design provides durability and easy “off-the-back” removal of the battery pack.

7. Wide or Narrow Band Selectable by Channel

Selectable on a channel-by-channel basis. Allows SLX to be sold to those users on the new narrow band

systems, as well as provide backward compatibility to wide band systems.

8. 11-Hour Battery Life with 1800mAh Li-Ion Battery

High capacity Li-Ion battery provides long battery life between charging.

9. Dual Slot, Smart Rapid Desk-Top Charger – Standard with every SLX Radio

Compact-size LED’s indicate charging status of both slots. Charges 2 packs sequentially (Front to Back). Will

charge depleted pack in approximately 2½ hours. Automatically begins charging 2nd pack when 1

complete.

10. 8-Character Alpha/Numeric LCD Backlit Display

For added customer convenience the LED display allows channels to be “tagged” with alpha names and/or

numbered – whatever the customer prefers. The display also makes it easy for the customer to access other

advanced MENU features of the SLX.
